Our standard

We prohibit child sexual abuse and exploitation, and child sexual abuse material (CSAM), anywhere on Complimee. This includes any attempt to contact, groom, sexualise or exploit a minor. Accounts involved are removed permanently and reported to the authorities.

Adults only, by design

  • 18+ only. Everyone confirms their date of birth when they join, and anyone under 18 is turned away.
  • No photos, videos, links or files. Nobody can share images or media anywhere in Complimee. Compliments are ready-made words, never free text.
  • No messages from strangers. A chat exists only after two people both choose to connect, and it’s text only.
  • Anonymous by default. Nobody’s name, photo or account is shown to people nearby.

Reporting a concern

  • In the app: report from any compliment, request or chat. Choose “Seems under 18” if you think someone is a minor, or the reason that fits best. Reports are private.
  • By email: write to hello@gourhit.com with “Child safety” in the subject.
  • If a child is in immediate danger, call your local emergency number (112 in India and the EU). In India, you can also report online at cybercrime.gov.in or call the Childline number, 1098.

What we do

When we receive a report, we:

  1. review it promptly, putting reports involving minors first;
  2. remove the content and the accounts involved, and stop them from returning;
  3. preserve evidence as the law requires;
  4. report child sexual abuse material and exploitation to the authorities: in India, to law enforcement and through the National Cyber Crime Reporting Portal; for content connected to the United States, to the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC); and to other national authorities where the law requires;
  5. cooperate with law enforcement investigations.

Accounts that appear to belong to someone under 18 are removed, even when nothing else is wrong.

The law

We comply with child safety laws wherever Complimee operates, including India’s Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act, 2012 (POCSO) and the Information Technology Act, 2000.
